The Alpine County Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for our 2026 Board of Directors.

Requirements:
Nominees are required to be current members of the Chamber of Commerce (Nominees can renew their membership and submit their interest before January 7th to be considered).
Nominations are open to both individual members and business members. (Business can nominate a staff member).
Responsibilities:
Board members are responsible for the overall direction and health of the Chamber. They will:
Set and uphold the Chamber’s mission, vision, and strategic plan
Approve policies, budgets, and major initiatives
Ensure legal, ethical, and financial accountability
Support the Executive Director ( who is responsible for daily operations )
Expectations:
There are 5 meetings per year.
Meetings will take place on the 3rd Thursday. There will be 2 meetings in the first quarter, and then 1 per quarter.
2 of the 5 meetings are mixers
Board Members are required to attend a minimum of 2 meetings.
Some meetings are available to be attended remotely, not including the mixers.
Notes:
Board Members are unpaid volunteers.
Once you submit your interest and applications close, all Chamber Members will receive a ballot by email that must be completed by January 14th, 5:30 pm PST (24 hours prior to the meeting on the 15th).
Election results will be announced at the Chamber Board Meeting on January 15th, 5:30 pm PST

Aaron Johnson - Board President
Aaron is the General Manager of Bear Valley Adventure Co. in Bear Valley. He is very active in the Bear Valley community and has been a long time supporter of the Chamber.
Current Term: October 2023 - December 2025
Carol Hannagan - Board Vice President
Elizabeth is a proud mother of three adult children, a grandmother of two grandsons, and moved to Markleeville in December 2019. Furthermore, she is a member of the California State Bar and practices under her maiden name Elizabeth C. Sears. To family and friends, she is known as Lisa. Lastly, she has more than fifteen years of litigation experience.

Elizabeth is a proud mother of three adult children, a grandmother of two grandsons, and moved to Markleeville in December 2019. Furthermore, she is a member of the California State Bar and practices under her maiden name, Elizabeth C. Sears. To family and friends, she is known as Lisa. Lastly, she has more than fifteen years of litigation experience.

Nicolette Anderson - Board Member
Nicolette Anderson is the proud owner of Raptor Pest Control and a dedicated member of the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce board. A resident of Markleeville since 2021, Nicolette brings a wealth of passion and community spirit to her role. Nicolette is committed to contributing to its growth and prosperity. Having witnessed the challenges and triumphs of the community, including wildfires, floods, and acts of solidarity, Nicolette is inspired by the unwavering bond among residents. She looks forward to leveraging her expertise and enthusiasm to support the chamber's initiatives and foster a thriving future for Alpine County. With a calendar full of exciting events on the horizon, Nicolette is eager to play her part in cultivating a vibrant and resilient community.

Treasurer Kirkwood
Patrick is the Owner/Operator of 7800 Bar and Grill in Kirkwood. Patrick joined the Chamber Board of Directors in 2019 and provides key representation of business insights in the Kirkwood community.

Staff
Meghan has over 20 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping roles. She was raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains and is a small-town girl at heart. She started in the Sierra's bookkeeping at Silver Lake/Kirkwood in 2016 and hasn’t left. Meghan is a proud mama to a tenacious teen. And her love of nature extends from the ocean to the mountains, butterflies to bears.
Casey Nokomis Pereira - Marketing
Originally from South Lake Tahoe, Casey has worked in Marketing for various arts and tourism organizations in the United Kingdom and the United States. The mountains have always been her home, and she is thrilled to promote the beauty of Alpine County.
